CHAPTER 25

The silence was sweet, as I continued to make another star. I went slower, just in case he wanted to attempt to learn how to make it himself. When I finished, I used my spiritual essence to have it stay in the air by itself.

Sitting up, I looked around and thought of an idea!

Normally, I didn’t much care for what time it was when I did my training, but why not make the best of it?

The sun hadn’t quite set yet, so I decided we needed to wait.

“What are you going to do?” The man asked, purely curious.

“Send it off.”

In my past life, I was never really good at dancing with words. I much preferred getting straight to the point by being upfront, blunt and honest. It wasn’t a good strategy to finding friends though, I have to admit. For some reason people don’t like ‘blunt’ and most of the time ‘honestly’ isn’t appreciated as much as I think it should be...

Although, in this life, since having to have to live in olden days, words were used a h.e.l.l of a lot. I have had to learn how to hide some things and word something out in twenty words, instead of two or three. But, I hate it. It’s a waste of time and energy to say so much when meaning very little of it…Actually, I felt the same about a few other things too, like getting angry. I think getting angry is also something that takes too much wasted time and energy, you’d be better off staying cool, calm and collected.

So, being with this man beside me, I felt like I didn’t want to be somebody I wasn’t.

Why is it that I feel like I can be myself around him? Normally, I act myself with only people I totally trust…Or…Could it be my instincts are telling me I can be myself?

While he was questioning what I said, I looked back at him curiously. When he caught me staring at him, he stared back.

I blinked, putting my head to the side a bit, then looked back at him. After a small moment, of not being able to answer my silent question with confidence, I looked away and sighed.

Whatever the reason, it’s nice to be myself with more than one person in the world…

I heard him clear his throat and ask, “Send it off?”

“Mmm, at night time.”

The man looked at me strangely, but I didn’t elaborate further.

The type of cultivation this la.s.s was using, seemed interesting. He knew of the basic kinds that many people used, such as adding to one’s weapon or one’s knowledge. But this cultivation seemed either invisible or set on gravity?

“What cultivation is this?” He finally asked, putting his hand around the star to find it didn’t move.

“Bending s.p.a.ce.” I answered.

What would be the point of keeping it a secret from him? I don’t think he wishes to harm me. Besides…It might not matter anyway…

Haha, it isn’t even the biggest secret I have!

“…Ben…Bending s.p.a.ce? That’s a rare but highly regarded meditation! This type of cultivation is well respected, giving a bright future to those who have it!” The man said, still very much surprised!

He knew that ‘Bending s.p.a.ce’ meditation was very hard to understand and thought that this young la.s.s must be some sort of genius to have figured it out!

I shrugged, “I don’t use it in front of others. I learnt another meditation to cover it up.”

“Yes, don’t tell anyone! Not until you have a strong backing! But…Why did you tell me?”

Good question!

I shrugged again, “I dunno.”

Feeling both worried and special at the same time, the man didn’t know how to respond. Not only was this meditation very wanted but there would definitely be people who would want to make her their puppet!

As they fell into their own thoughts for quite a few minutes, the sky darkened.

I turned to him, “Do you have a wish?”

“A wish?”

“Yeah, something you want? A dream?”

The man gave a small smile, while staring at me. After a moment he replied, “…Yes.”

I smiled back, “Okay, say ‘Star light, star bright’…”

After he repeated my words, I made the star go further and further away, so far away that it went out of sight.

The man thought that it was over and looked at me.

...But this was training to me and I continued to push the star further and further. Doing this kind of thing was like having two sets of eyes. My eyes could see what the star could ‘see’, because there was ‘no s.p.a.ce’ between it and I, and I continued to make it go down a path I had travelled before.

“Closer…Further away…”
