CHAPTER 33

The only problem with the Green Haven Emperor, was that he wasn’t strong himself, finding out from young that he had a problem with his meridians. Since he wasn’t as strong as one would like an Emperor, he became strict because of this. Throughout his life, he had to take at least four or five times longer than the normal cultivator to advance, only making him a third ranked cultivator, at the age of 55.

With a lot of hard work and luck, he had been able to survive till this age and become the Emperor. He hadn’t initially been the Crowned Prince beforehand, but he was favoured due to showing how much work he willingly put forth towards the capital and its people. Sadly, his elder brother had tried to kill him, and it was a life and death situation…It became a very big secret that the present Emperor had been the one to kill his very own brother, who was supposed to have taken the throne. Due to having allies and true friends, this Emperor was able to succeed where his brother had not. His other brothers and sisters had either pa.s.sed away now, and the few that remained seemed docile. It is believed that they are being bought with treasure’s or money, so they could continue to live without conflict.

The Green Haven Emperor had quite a substantial number of children, but most of them ended up as females, and there was quite a gap in between the males.

The Crowned Prince was already thirty and learning from his father, yet, he himself was also at third rank. Sadly, the Crowned Prince suffered from the same problem as the Emperor, but it wasn’t as bad, only having to do twice the work instead of three or four times the work to advance.

The Second Prince was eighteen and it was known that he had a great foundation, as he was a sixth rank cultivator. When he had reached fourth rank, two years ago, he had deemed himself forever giving up the position for the throne of Green Haven!

The Emperor hadn’t wanted him to do this, as he silently thought it was because of the death of Matthew’s late wife, Isabella, and his unborn child, that had made him feel this way…

Instead, the Second Prince had stated that he had no interest in becoming ‘Emperor of Green Haven’ and that he was going to even leave the capital one day. His reason for giving up his claim to the throne was a secret, as he had never really told the Emperor a valid explanation of why he was doing it. What had happened with Isabella wasn’t forgotten but revenge had already been done.

What happened after that, only Matthew himself knew, and it was something that gave him no right to the Green Haven throne…

The Third Prince was only ten, and a first ranked cultivator. After his birth, it seemed the fight for the throne had started and became quite a sad factor for him.

The Emperor ended up having to send the mother of the Third Prince into the cold palace, as there were too many evidences to see that she had tried to take over the harem and even some of the people close to the Emperor.

After his mother had gone, the Third Prince became unsociable and quiet. But through this, the Crowned Prince’s position was stable yet again, making the palace a more harmonious place.

Actually, within all of the ‘Haven’s’, the Green Haven has the second most peaceful palace on the planet. I had not known any of this, but if I found out that most of the time the palace seemed hazard free, I’d probably have my mouth wide opened and shake my head in disbelief!

But…Outside the palace, there were two families…One is connected to the consort who was sent to the cold palace…The other, Matthew knows of it as, the family that does the Crowned Prince’s dark deeds…

Matthew knew that when he had given up his right to the throne, on the surface the Crowned Prince seemed to be happier. But…Under that surface, of pretending to care…The Crowned Prince had been forever jealous over the Second Prince. With having a good foundation to cultivate, and ranked twice as much as himself, the Crowned Prince didn’t lose any kind of dislike towards his brother, it had only increased!

Not following his father’s footsteps in proving himself worthy to the capital, he instead secretly went around to give other people ideas and helped formulate plans. Since he didn’t particularly indulge in these plans himself, he was never reprehended or found as a guilty party. But…Even if the Second Prince had many people on his side…So did the Crowned Prince!
