Gu Yu Sheng’s bellow of rage caused Xiao w.a.n.g’s foot to slip. The car suddenly shot forward. Caught completely unaware, Qin Zhi Ai’s body tilted, falling right onto Gu Yu Sheng’s chest.
Gu Yu Sheng’s body froze. His brows suddenly wrinkled.
When Qin Zhi Ai was falling onto him, in her fl.u.s.ter and panic, she caught a glimpse of him, and noticed that his expression was strange. She was so frightened her entire body involuntarily trembled. Before her brain even had time to think, she was already out of his embrace, and was sitting up straight, and had even nudged a few millimetres closer to the car door, to widen the distance between them a little more.
Her high-speed series of actions vexed Gu Yu Sheng to the point his brows creased even deeper. He yelled at Xiao w.a.n.g in front. “Do you even know to drive? Did I hire you to fall asleep?”
Under Gu Yu Sheng's terrible rage, Xiao w.a.n.g didn’t dare to speak a word. He quickly exited the car, ran to the back trunk, grabbed two towels, and quickly entered the car again. At lightning speed, he threw the towels at Qin Zhi Ai, turned back to face the front, and started the car again.
Since Qin Zhi Ai had an umbrella, she wasn’t that wet above her shoulders. She took the towel and quickly dried the water on the lower half of her body. She then saw that on the areas that she had stepped there was dirty water, mud, and also traces of bloodstains.
She remembered that it was only because Gu Yu Sheng was afraid that she would dirty his car, that he made Xiao w.a.n.g give her a towel. She held the towel in her hand and hesitated for a moment, but in the end, bent down and wiped the fifth from the soles of her own feet.
Seeing this action of hers, Gu Yu Sheng felt even more agitated. He unconsciously wanted to tell Xiao w.a.n.g to turn down the air conditioning a little. However, when the words were about to come out of his mouth, he saw Qin Zhi Ai’s dripping skirt which was pasted on her body from the corner of his eye, and as if someone else was controlling his body, he closed his mouth. After this, his annoyance and agitation worsened even more. He angrily raised his hand, and undid two b.u.t.tons on his chest. He seemed to have felt that doing that had no effect, and instinctively reached for a cigarette.
When he was looking for a lighter, Gu Yu Sheng bent down his head and saw that the towel that Qin Zhi Ai was holding in her hand was lightly stained with red, like the colour of blood.
His lips unconsciously twitched. The cigarette in his mouth fell out.
Keeping his head lowered, he stared at that towel. It was unknown what he was running through his head at this moment. He then reached out and picked up the cigarette, and stuffed it between his lips. While he was holding the cigarette lighter, he took a glance outside the window. They had already entered the city area but it was still a distance from home……
While even Gu Yu Sheng didn’t understand what he himself was thinking, his lips had already uttered the words, “Go to Four Seasons’ Hotel.”
Gu Yu Sheng blew out a mouthful of smoke and added, “Lu Ban Cheng and the others are waiting for me there.”
……
When the car stopped at the Four Seasons’ Hotel’s front door, just when Qin Zhi Ai wanted to tell Gu Yu Sheng that she would go home first by herself, Gu Yu Sheng tossed out the words, “Take her to my room. Bring her a change of clean clothes.”
And, not waiting for an answer, he pushed open the car door, and left without saying another word, entering the lobby of the Four Seasons’ Hotel.
