Looking at herself once over in the hand mirror, she headed to the lift ignoring all the critic comments and hateful glares with her head lowered.
She looked grieved but behind the curtain of her hairs she was hiding her sinister smile that could freeze people to death. She was not forgiving at all. She noted every call and glance.
She was a vengeful soul; this is what she did all her life. This is what she knew how to do best. Revenge. It was sweet, sweeter that sweetness itself.
From where she came, there were no rainbows or lullabies. There were horror-strained screams and crimson red blood. She could never part from this self of her.
They shouldn't have done this…. Now they will pay.
When she reached her floor she was greeted by shocked looks that turned into hateful glares in an instant. The entire secretariat was shunned of voices. The atmosphere turned heavy.
"You still dare to show your face here, you shameless wh.o.r.e!" It was Chen Shu who shouted first.
"I feel disgusted to breathe the same air as this vile creature." Jiang Qinqin said with agitation in her voice.
'Why haven't she left yet. Did the humiliation not work?! What the h.e.l.l is this woman made of?! I have to get her out of here. I can't let this fire flare! What if the authorities investigate?! No! She has to leave.' Thought Jiang Qinqin.
While the others at secretariat station were slandering her, Fan Bingbing stayed quite and looked at Lei Xinyi with pity. She wasn't an idiot like Chen Shu, she understood this office politics greatly just as she understood the stocks she worked on.
Jiang Qinqin thought of herself as the future Mrs. Li, and did all these schemes to get rid of 'early' mistresses. Though all the other victims were a true nuisance, this one looked decent.
All through the slandering Lei Xinyi stood there with her lips pursed and head lowered. n.o.body could guess what was going through that head of hers.
Looking at no outburst or commotion Jiang Qinqin felt her inside churn. "Listen you have to leave till the authorities decide what to do with your case." Jiang Qinqin said hiding all her agitation behind her stern voice.
Lei Xinyi looked up at Jiang Qinqin with cold eyes. For a moment Jiang Qinqin thought an empress looked at her. But it was gone as it came and timid and tame hurt became evident in Lei Xinyi eyes.
"Hey! Where are you….. Hey! Stop…."
Without saying a word Lei Xinyi walked further. As she was one step away from the CEO's office, Jiang Qinqin grabbed her arm and pushed her backward.
Neither was Jiang Qinqin grip tight enough to hold her nor was Jiang Qinqin push strong enough but instead Lei Xinyi fell to the floor deliberately and let out a scream.
Hearing the scream a.s.sistant Ji came running out of his office. As he saw Lei Xinyi on the floor sobbing with a tears strained face, he was shocked to his core. He let out a curse and without wasting a single second he went to call the CEO.
"a.s.sistant Jiang, it is not what you…" Jiang Qinqin desperately tried to stop him. It had never gone out of her hands like this.
'But she didn't have to worry CEO Li favored her, he liked her. He would definitely not cause her harm because of this peasant.' Jiang Qinqin thought.
Li Yuan was in a middle of a conference, hearing what a.s.sistant Ji reported, he felt anger churning his insides. How dare anybody lay a hand on her, she was his woman, Li Yuan's woman. n.o.body but he had the right to rejoice her or hurt her.
As Li Yuan face became contoured with anger, the Directors in the room started sweating. Without a word he left the meeting leaving them to thank G.o.d, they were not the receivers of his fury.
It was not how he wanted things to turn out. He wanted Lu Xinyi to get angry and show her real self to him and then he wouldn't have to act as a kind and gentle man either.
He would have then revealed her as the daughter of the Lu Family and his fiancé and the scandal would have been over and they could have build something between them….
As Li Yuan reached the secretariat, he saw Lei Xinyi sobbing and hiccupping on the floor. He felt the rage he had never felt before. Looking at her in that state pitiful state he wanted to torture the culprit to death.
Getting closer Li Yuan got down to her level and pulled the hand covering her face, "Xinyi, I am here. Who did this?" Li Yuan asked with hardly suppressed rage. He wasn't smiling like he usually was. Neither was he trying to suppress his aura. Today he wanted people to remember who he was.
And whose woman have they hurt...
As Lei XInyi saw Li Yuan she threw herself at him and started sobbing and hiccupping on his chest and circled her arms around his waist a little too intimately, "L…. Li Yuan, everyone is so….sniff…..bad. I jus….Just wanted to see y… You bef…before I left. I….I will ne….never come back….sob sob"
